Untold Stories
These are stories that health professionals felt they could not tell. They include stories of people who felt they could not take part in the study, those who withdrew from the study, and those who told their story but decided not to approve of its retelling.
The reasons why these stories must go untold are complex. It may have been enough for the teller to have told it once, in confidence. It may be that the story could jeopardize patient or team-member confidentiality. Or perhaps the story challenges the dominant narrative circulating among the teller's peers, or among administrators, researchers, or the public.
